Your library. Your choice.
This notice describes the Promptlio web beta and browser extension. Native applications have separate account and permission behavior.
What this beta stores
Prompts, categories, collections, preferences and revision history are saved in IndexedDB in this browser. Unsaved drafts and layout preferences may be saved in local browser storage. In guest mode, your library stays in this browser. Signing in opens a separate account library; choosing “Import guest prompts” uploads a copy to that account.
Optional account synchronization
Sign-in is optional. Account libraries send prompts, categories, collections, saved template defaults, revisions and preferences to Promptlio's Railway-hosted backend over HTTPS. Local copies support offline use and queue edits until connected. Guest libraries are separate from signed-in accounts. Email verification and sign-in messages are sent using Resend. Session credentials are stored in this browser to keep you signed in. No prompt text is sent to an AI service. New guest installations contain editable examples.
Clipboard and files
Copy writes the prompt you choose to your clipboard. Capture clipboard reads text only when you invoke that action and the browser permits it. Import reads the file you explicitly select. Exports download a file to your device.
Browser extension permissions and storage
The extension stores prompts and queued edits in its own browser storage. Guest records stay on the device. Signed-in account libraries use the same Promptlio account backend. Session credentials stay in extension storage and are not sent to AI websites or content scripts.
The extension reads selected page text only when you invoke capture. It does not collect full conversations, browsing history, cookies, or unrelated page text. Site access for supported AI tools is optional and can be revoked in browser settings. Insertion reads an existing draft to preserve it locally, without uploading that draft or automatically sending a message. Extension clipboard access writes text only after a Copy action; it does not monitor your clipboard. No analytics or advertising SDK is bundled in the extension. Removing the extension or clearing its storage can erase local records; keep an export for backup.
Prompt-use counts and last-use times support the extension's Recent prompts view and are part of signed-in library synchronization. These records do not include general browsing clicks, scrolling, or keystrokes. Network request metadata, including IP addresses, may be processed for service delivery and security; the extension does not request GPS access or determine your precise physical location.
Hosting and network requests
Your browser downloads the app and assets from the hosting service. That service may process request metadata, such as IP addresses and browser headers, to deliver the site and maintain its security. The app includes no advertising SDK or third-party font requests. It does not send prompts to an AI service. Optional first-party usage measurement is described below.
Storage and deletion
Local browser storage is not a server backup and is not encrypted by Promptlio. Clearing site data, storage eviction, private browsing or loss of the device can erase your library. Keep a JSON backup. To remove all locally saved Promptlio data, clear this site's storage in your browser settings. Removing an installed PWA alone may not clear its data. Signed-in users can permanently delete their account and cloud library from Settings after signing in again with a fresh email link. A minimal account-ID revocation marker remains to reject old access tokens. Offline copies on other devices cannot be erased remotely.
Optional usage measurement
Usage measurement is off by default. If enabled in Settings, the app sends basic event names (such as library opened, prompt saved or copied, starter kit added, and collection shared or imported) with a random browser ID. The server stores a hashed ID, event name, and day, without prompt text, field values, account IDs, or email addresses. Administrators see aggregate browser counts. Records older than 90 days are removed when new activity is processed and are excluded from reports. You can stop collection or request deletion of this browser's recorded activity in Settings.
Saved field presets
Named field presets are stored in this browser, separated by account and workspace. They are not uploaded or included in shared collections. Delete them in the prompt fields window or clear site storage to remove them. Deleting your account also removes presets from the current browser. Presets are not included in library exports or cloud backups.
Sharing collections
Publishing a collection creates a server-hosted snapshot accessible to anyone with its link. It includes the collection name and selected prompt titles, descriptions, template text, optional-field names, and any creator credit and illustrative examples explicitly entered for publication. Saved field values, private notes, revision history, and account details are excluded. Review template text before publishing. You can revoke a link or delete your account to stop future access, but recipients keep copies they have already imported. Later library edits do not update published snapshots.
Blog publishing
Authorized editors can save private article drafts and publish public articles. Published articles display the supplied byline and publication date. Draft revisions and editor account identifiers are retained to manage editorial changes. Your private prompt library is not published as blog content.
Optional Paddle payments
If you choose an available paid plan through Paddle, Paddle collects the payment and billing details needed for that transaction through its checkout. Promptlio receives the customer, transaction, plan and subscription references and status needed to provide and manage paid access. Card numbers and security codes are not collected by Promptlio's application servers. The applicable Paddle notices are shown with checkout; see our Refunds & cancellations policy for buyer-support links.
Before sharing sensitive information
Use a device and browser profile you trust. Exported backup files can contain your prompt text and saved template defaults. Protect those files as you would any other personal document.
Contact and legal information
For privacy questions, data requests, complaints or legal notices, contact hello@promptlio.app. Cloud libraries are not end-to-end encrypted. Deleted data may remain in restricted backups until their retention cycle completes.
